Doctor of Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine
A patient in her 20s presents in the clinic with chronic knee pain and sciatica pain. At the initial visit she reported the pain to be 6/10 and worse during exercise. During treatment the pain decreased to 2/10. She was told to come in twice a week for 14 sessions and to abstain from any exercise in the initial weeks of treatment. Within 8 treatments she had come down to 0/10 pain. We continued at twice a week and she was told to start exercising at 50% of her normal routine. She continued to have no pain during or after exercise. Once she showed stability with increasing her exercise over two weeks, she was decreased to weekly treatments where she continues to have no pain. She will continue weekly treatments mostly for stress management, and we will continue to monitor her pain levels. She has had no pain since her 8th treatment.
Her dates of treatment were 6/12, 6/17, 6/19, 6/24, 6/26, 7/1, 7/8, 7/10, 7/15, 7/17, 7/24 and 7/31 for a total of 12 treatments.
